Description
Alvarinho Reserva 2017 is produced at Quinta do Tamariz, in the Vinhos Verdes Demarcated Region (Minho IGP). The 2017 viticultural year was marked by a very warm spring, without excessive temperatures, which led to an early and uniform flowering. A dry, hot summer accelerated the vine cycle, resulting in an early harvest and wines with higher alcohol content and greater concentration.
The grapes were carefully hand-harvested into small boxes to avoid crushing, then gently destemmed and pressed. Fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at 14–16ºC for about 10 days, temperature-controlled and carried out individually for each grape variety. The wine remained on fine lees with bâtonnage, enhancing freshness and volume. Tartaric stabilization was done through cold treatment before bottling.
