Description
Vinha de Cantim Reserva 2020 is produced at Quinta do Tamariz, in the Vinhos Verdes Demarcated Region (Sub-region of Cávado). This vineyard, planted beside the manor house, is the oldest plot of the estate and retains the original name of the quinta — Cantim.
Crafted mainly from Loureiro (90%) with small additions of Arinto (5%) and Alvarinho (5%), the grapes benefit from excellent sun exposure and granitic soils that bring freshness and minerality. Only the most perfect and ripest clusters were selected to create a wine destined for ageing. Fermentation was carried out together, without destemming, at 14–16ºC for 30 days, without malolactic fermentation, to preserve acidity and aromatic purity.
Aged for two years in the cellar, and bottled in June 2021, the wine was released to the market in November 2022. Limited production of 3,557 bottles makes it a rare expression of Quinta do Tamariz’s heritage.
